Trailer, Truck or Reefer Mechanic
Job Details:
Full Time with overtime.
At least 2 years of experience working on trailers, medium and heavy-duty diesel equipment and Reefers if applying for Reefer Tech position.
Pay: DOE, $28- $39/per hour plus lucrative monthly bonuses
Job Requirements:
- Have your own set of tools
- Experience using tools of the trade including power tools and diagnostic equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot engine and trailer malfunctions and failures
- Perform routine services on trailers & trucks
- Knowledge of brake systems, air systems, steering systems, suspension, electrical systems, drive-train components, and hydraulic systems
- Reefer experience a plus, but will train the right candidate
- Perform DOT inspections
- Perform work as outlined in service repair order
- Perform all work with efficiency and accuracy with no come backs
- Communicate with the parts department to secure necessary parts
- Communicate effectively with Shop Manager to ensure problems, nature of repair, and status of repair are understood and followed up on
- Promote additional work, parts and services to customers
- Use safe working practices and follow all company safety requirements
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area
- Be a self-starter who likes to work independently in a team environment and maintains a high level of productivity & be able to work to most SRT times
- CDL & Ability to move trucks and trailers a plus
Experience:
- Diesel Engine, Truck & Heavy Equipment Mechanics: 2 years (Preferred)
- Diesel engine repair: 2 years (Preferred)
- Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (Preferred)
