Trailer, Truck or Reefer Mechanic
Job Details: Full Time with overtime opportunities available. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience working on trailers, medium and heavy-duty diesel equipment, and Reefers if applying for the Reefer Technician position.
Pay: DOE, $28- $39 per hour plus lucrative monthly bonuses based on performance.
Job Requirements:
- Must have your own set of tools.
- Experience using tools of the trade, including power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot engine and trailer malfunctions and failures.
- Perform routine services on trailers and trucks.
- In-depth knowledge of brake systems, air systems, steering systems, suspension, electrical systems, drive-train components, and hydraulic systems.
- Reefer experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Conduct DOT inspections.
- Complete work as outlined in the service repair order.
- Execute all tasks with efficiency and accuracy, ensuring no come backs.
- Communicate with the parts department to secure necessary parts for repairs.
- Effectively communicate with the Shop Manager to ensure that problems, the nature of repairs, and the status of repairs are understood and followed up on.
- Promote additional work, parts, and services to customers.
- Utilize safe working practices and adhere to all company safety requirements.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Be a self-starter who enjoys working independently in a team environment, maintaining a high level of productivity while working to most SRT times. A CDL and the ability to move trucks and trailers is a plus.
Experience:
- Diesel Engine, Truck & Heavy Equipment Mechanics: 2 years (Preferred)
- Diesel engine repair: 2 years (Preferred)
- Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (Preferred)
