Keith Thums, owner and founder of Kat Works,  began his work as a mechanic immediately following his career with the United States Air Force in 1999. He was the lead mechanic for one of the world's largest freight shipping companies in Alaska for over 15 years.  Over the course of his career he earned many valuable specialty certifications and is extremely knowledgeable in container and trailer refrigeration, truck and trailer repair as well as welding. 

After moving to CO in 2015 Keith decided to open his own repair shop. He started out renting a small, single bay shop which soon became crowded and too small. With the addition of 2 more mechanics it became necessary to look for a larger, more suitable facility. In early 2019 the "new" Kat Works was born and with the purchase of a 6 bay shop and hiring more mechanics Kat Works has evolved into a bustling repair shop.

But one thing has not changed - the dedication to quality work and treating customers right. 

The team at Kat Works takes great pride in quality work and timely completion. We understand that our clients' livelihoods depend on their equipment running smoothly and reliably, and that any downtime waiting around at a repair shop can be detrimental especially small companies and owner-operators. We do our best to get our clients in and out while at the same time being mindful about our clients' budgets.
